The Family Pledge, like the Lord's Prayer, is often recited in worship. Each of its eight verses begins with "Our family, the owner of Cheon Il Guk, pledges, and ends "by centering on true love." When reciting them, Unificationists recommit themselves to building families where God dwells as the Head of the family and a partner with the husband, wife and children. Such families work on their own internal relationships to become families of true love. Yet since God is concerned with the world, they also participate in God's work to bring peace and justice to the larger society and establish God's Kingdom.
